At the beginning of 2020 I had just graduated film school and I decided to stay in Australia. In January I moved in with my partner and then in March a global pandemic started (as everyone knows haha). I lost my job as a waitress and the whole art industry was shut and projects stopped. I then decided to start to do what I am good at- I started to create. I fillmed some videos for instagram shops, I edited real state videos, online classes and interviews. I produced some more interviews and I continued to edit, edit, and edit.
In July, 2020, I got my first long term position on a project and I was so thrilled. I got the opportunity to make short videos for social media and produce two short documentaries for a construction company, Icon Metal, for two major projects they were doing. These projects were the Circular Quay Tower and the Sydney Opera House.
The first meeting I had with the company, I remember that they were looking for someone that would tell the story, and they said that person was me. I am a story teller, and that's what I love to do!
I finish these two short films in 28 days. My heart gets a mix of feeling of gratitude, love and a little bit of fear, but I know that as life circles close, new ones begin.
Just keep swimming!
